Includes Baby's First Teacher box with 166 words (on 83 double-sided cards) and instructions for games. Includes simple instructions along with the Parents’ Guide and Dr. Titzer's Early Learning Workshop DVD. BONUS: Includes 5 Your Child Can Read! DVDs. The YCCR DVDs are highly entertaining, interactive, and they contain songs designed to teach aspects of reading. NOTE: There are more than 1200 words in this package containing YBCR and Your Child Can Read including the 200 most frequently used words in children's literature. The YBCR program is designed to teach reading in a way that is similar to how infants learn other language skills. The babies start off memorizing what words look like, what they sound like, and what they mean. This is similar to how babies learn to understand and say words -- they start off memorizing what the words sound like and what they mean. Toddlers naturally figure out grammar by figuring out the patterns of the spoken language without being told the rules of grammar. Ideally, babies and toddlers would watch YBCR in English and YBCR in French. If you are an English speaker who wants to introduce French, you may want to show your baby the English version about two thirds of the time and the French version about one third of the time. If you are a native English speaker trying to help your child become bilingual, then you may show YBCR in French more than you show YBCR in English.
