Parents, how did you know that your baby was reading?
Please let us know as part of our grassroots media campaign across the US and around the world. We are looking for families who will appear in the news to let people know that it is possible to teach babies written language at the same time they learn spoken language.
Here are some tests that many parents have used to determine if their babies are reading. The tests are in order from easier to harder. Only check to see if your baby can read if she or he is in the mood and only do this activities in a fun, loving manner. It is important to learn what your baby knows or doesn’t know because that can influence how you teach your child. For example, if your child can already read many words, then you will want to teach new words. If your child can’t yet read the words, then you will probably want to repeat the words more frequently.
Part of our mission at the Infant Learning Company is to change the way societies think about early literacy and early learning and we can do this with your help! We invite you to join us in this effort by sharing your success story with media, so other families can learn that it is possible to teach babies to read at the same time they learn to talk.
